Information for Parents and Carers

Nestlings Care values the input of parents and carers and will work closely with those involved in the care of each young person from the initial assessment process onwards. We will work with you to keep you informed about progress and changes. Regular contact will be available with the house manager and an identified member of the mental health team so that you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have and be a part of decision making processes.

Our commitment to you involves providing:

  • A staff team who you can trust and have regular contact with.
  • Involvement in your Child’s care and all your views to be taken on board.
  • A consistent group of professionals who are with you throughout the journey of your child.
  • Information and support to maintain and improve the relationship with your child.
  • To support you to understand your Child's difficulties and any treatment that they are receiving.
  • Young people will be able to invite family members to introductory visits to the home.
  • Family/carers are welcome to visit young people at the home, generally at weekends and in the evening.
  • Feedback questionnaires in order to obtain the views from family members.
  • Young people will be able to have regular telephone contact and are encouraged to do so by the staff.
  • If there is a significant distance or difficulties travelling to visit, we will facilitate home visits where appropriate.
